Today i signed up for a free trial on ancestry.com and i was researching my moms grandparents and I found out we’re from Palermo, Sicily. My great grandpa was born in 1881 and my great grandma was born in 1889. They came over in 1901 and 1902 and met/got married not long after. They had 5 girls, one of whom died before the age of 4.

I feel so much more connected to them now and it’s just really nice to know exactly where I’m from.

What sucks though is I hit dead ends on her fathers side and i wish i could learn more about my polish roots.
